Dirt Bike Racing

   Subscribe To Our Feed

So you want to start racing dirt bikes?

That’s understandable because many people who seek adventure in their lives take up this sport. It’s true that this is a sport with many risks, but if you just practice and be careful, you’ll be alright.

Racing dirt bikes is a popular pastime with people of all age, many grandfathers and grandchildren take part in regular races and the younger you start the better you will be. Lots of professional dirt bike racers started getting into the sport when they were 4 or 5 years old. If you think that’s way too young, then wait until your kids reach thirteen and up to let them try this sport.

Things to consider if you want to try racing dirt bikes.

Your safety is number one. This should be a major factor to consider when you’re out buying your bike and equipment. Remember, you won’t be riding for long if your safety isn’t taken care of. Even second hand bikes can be purchased in a ready to ride condition and you should make sure that all parts are in very good working order before you start racing. If you have no or little knowledge of racing dirt bikes then you should get a professional to look at your bike for you and make the necessary repairs or replacements.

Now, watch others when they are racing dirt bikes so you get a feel for how it’s done. This is very ideal for first-timers because you’ll be able to see and decide if you can do it.

Will I be able to jump of the ground with my bike?

When you start racing dirt bikes it is highly unlikely you will get more than a foot or two off the ground when you hit a jump, and this is a good thing. Experience is crucial before you even consider escalating 10 feet into the air. You could seriously get hurt if you don’t know how to do it yet. You have to start small and progress to bigger things.

World Record Sale Classic Motorbike

   Subscribe To Our Feed

In around 1885, the first motorbike was produced. However, it wasn’t for several years, around 1910, that the designs gained real popularity. By the mid 1920’s, motorcycle companies were exporting and importing bikes globally, and Harley Davidson were the largest of the time. Bikes have been a huge and amazingly popular market ever since then, as the number of manufacturers and models drastically increased.

The classic motorcycle market has always been a big one. From classic British and American bikes to choppers, cruisers and scooters, people love the ‘golden era’ of motorbiking. Amongst the wide range of fans of these bikes, there are many collectors. This means a serious collectors market, some paying vast sums.. A recent sale at the H&H Classic Vehicle Auction presented a collection of quality classic bikes that illustrates this example. I’d be more than happy to sell my motorcycle for some of these beauties. Amongst the lots were:

- A 1954 BMW R54 double overhead cam Rennsport production racer, finally sold for £143,000.

- A 1960 AJS 7R that sold for a final price of £31,900.

- The star of the show was a 1929 Brough SS100 Superior. When built it was known as the Rolls-Royce of the motorbike world, and rightly so. The sprung frame has a monsterous 1000 cc v-twin engine, capable of delivering 100mph plus. This was finally sold to a private collector at a hammer price of £286,000. This broke the previous record by nealry £20,000 to make it the most expensive motorbike.

These aren’t the only kind of bikes that have gained value. As long as the condition is right, many hold their value well. Some 900, 600 and 125cc motorbikes for sale around the 30’s to the 50’s or 60’s are really desirable, as well as the especially powerful or old models. If you want to find out more about classic motorbikes, there are loads of great clubs and organisations on the internet that provide great histories. On top of that there are some really good sales sites like Autotrader and We Buy Any Bike to look through, and some bargains to be found.

What Coverage Is Provided By Cheap Motorcycle Insurance?

   Subscribe To Our Feed

First we need to understand that there is no such feature as cheap motorcycle insurance, at the very least not in the sense that we usually believe of when we say cheap. Because of the inherent risk of bodily harm when motorbike riding, insurance can be relatively costly. That being said, there are still things you need to realize about your coverage that could get you better deals and appropriate protection.

The first thing you want to think about is adequate medical coverage. Anytime a motorcycle meets a car or immoveable object, the motorcycle driver will lose and again, this is reflected in the cost of coverage. So even though this is the costly part of motorcyle insurance this is one spot you don’t want to be short of coverage. We know how expensive even a short stay in hospital can be and without the proper coverage it could mean financial ruin. And be sure that you get no-fault coverage meaning no matter who may be at fault you are covered. This is usually pretty standard but you need to always check just to make sure.

The other important option is comprehensive coverage. Comprehensive will compensate you for all the non-accident related events that could occur like theft, criminal damage, fire, etc… Motorcycles tend to be wanted targets by thieves and mischief makers and the likelihood of something happening to your bike if you don’t keep it in a garage at night is pretty high so don’t get caught short on this coverage.

You’ll also require good liability coverage but this should essentially not cost any more than it would for a car and then you need collision and this is the one area where your costs will be less than insurance on a car.

Being familiar with all of the above, how do you ensure that you get cheap motorcycle insurance that still provides the best deal achievable. The response is yes, by simply doing some comparison shopping on the web. Prior to online quotes wher available a bike owner would choose a local company with whom you already had a good relationship. While this may have seemed easier it did not ensure you were getting the least expensive premiums. Agents earn money by getting you to buy extra insurance so they don’t always quote you the lowest price. Now you can go straight to the insurance firms for your quotes and skip your local rep. There are several sites that allow you to compare directly different insurance firms and what they offer and at what cost. This ensures that you will get the best price and they provide enough detail so that you can make sure you are also getting the protection you need.

Keep in mind also that some of the same elements that affect your auto insurance costs will impact your cheap motorcycle insurance. Things like age, location, type of bike and most importantly, your driving record will all contribute towards higher or lower premiums.

Gas Scooter Safety

   Subscribe To Our Feed

If you get a gas scooter, you need to learn about riding it with caution. It is your responsibility to do anything you need to do before you get on a scooter and take off. You want to use common sense to make sure that you are not hurt or even worse.

You should make sure that you are wearing the proper gear each time you ride your gas scooter. Safety is very important and there are few necessities that you will have to have in order to make that happen. People should see you when you ride a scooter. Make sure you wear bright clothing that reflects light. Increasing your visibility on the road will definitely keep you safer. You need to make sure that you have reflective helmets as well.

You should also use helmets and kneepads. You should keep your body as protected as you possibly can when you ride a scooter. Elbow pads, wrists guards, helmets, gloves and even good shoes are always a good idea. In the event that you are involved in an accident, you won’t get as hurt that way.

Also, check the equipment in your scooter. You need to pay more attention to a scooter than you do to a car. Everything should work properly before you even start going. The steering should be fine, and all the nuts and bolts should be in place. Take a moment to check the brakes and every other control. and of course, the frame should look solid and in once piece. Make sure the tires are in good shape, without too much wear and tear. Tires are extremely important and they should be checked routinely.

Always know your gas scooter before you ride. Read and understand all the instructions before you ride. Notice all the safety and warning labels on the vehicle as well. Do an extra check of the controls, and drive cautiously even after you feel you know the scooter.

And, make sure you respect all rules and road laws. Make a note of places where you can ride, and be careful about cars. You should not ride in bad weather, if you can help it. And, try to not ride at night. Never go out on your gas scooter at night without your reflective gear.

If you can be careful and respect the rules of the road, riding a scooter can be very nice. You can have a lot of fun riding a scooter, and once you are able to master the fear, and to know the rules of the road, it can also make your life much easier. A scooter can definitely add a touch of fun and ease to your life.

Motorcycle Batteries: The Positives and Negatives

   Subscribe To Our Feed

It is safe to say that motorcycle batteries do not require too much attention and are usually quite hassle free but this does not mean there are not things you should and should not be doing when it comes to the care of them. These are a few tips on making you the motorcycle battery master!

Some Of The Dos

If I start with the dos and go onto the donts you will not be doing things that should not be done because you would have only done the dos!

Well one of the very first thing you need to make sure you are doing is to ensure you buy the right battery, getting something like leisure batteries or mobility batteries because these will not do the bike any good at all. if you really do not know what you are doing you have to get help, there is no harm in this!

You need to follow the instructions that come with the battery, follow them word for word. you need to be checking the battery on regular occasions, even more if it is hot or cold. Another key point is to make sure you are safe in using battery acid as it is very corrosive and flammable.

The Don’ts

Never add battery acid to the battery or go around disconnecting cables when the engine is still running, you will get hurt. Something else to consider is to not add water from the tap because this contains minerals that could contaminate the battery acid, this again is not a good thing.

So once again, there you are, just a few tips on making sure that those motorcycle batteries last a long time, you also need to know that old batteries can be recycled!!

Pocket Bikes Miniature Motorbikes

   Subscribe To Our Feed

Pocket bikes, also known as mini motors are miniature-sized motorcycles, fueled with either gas or oil and powered with gas-burning engines. Japan is a country known for miniaturizing full-scale products and this is where the concept of motorbikes began.

In order for bigger cars not to run into your pocket bikes, they’re were previously used only on private roads, roads not under public traffic laws, and closed racetracks. But these you will often find pocket bikes zinging in and out of the parking lots, up and down the residential streets and occasionally onto the side of the cars.

Although 35mph is the top speed of pocket bikes, often it can be further raised. Their duplicate imitation of normal-sized street motorcycles is another interesting feature of these pocket bikes. The pocket bikes are equipped with handlebars, twist-grip throttles, and chain drives, electronic ignition and disk brakes.

The pocket bikes are not at all safe for the highways or high traffic zone areas. If someone is driving a mini pocket bike behind you while you’re driving a small sports car, you may not be able to see them. So it becomes really dangerous to move in a traffic-crowded area, as the rider can be easily run-down by the driver of the bigger truck. What the pocket bike is specially designed to travel on is on the racetracks.

It’s important to follow safety measures when driving pocket bikes. Besides carrying his helmet and pads, the person driving the bike should be an ace in driving. If your kid is the one riding the bike, make sure they won’t go out of the driveway or the backyard.

Because the pocket bikes follow hi-tech technology, thousands of dollars are what the snazziest models would cost. Around $200-$800 are what the smaller models would cost. Pocket bikes are famous amongst teenagers and those in their early youths and they basically come from Japan and China. The weight of these bikes are nearly 50lbs and they can be carried stacked in a corner of the trunk of the car since it stands about a foot and a half. They have really tiny engines with 47 cc to 49cc displacement, less than 1/20th the size of the bigger motorcycles.

Try out the pocket bikes. Pocket bikes are the best alternatives for you if you’re looking for something thrilling and exciting to bring a difference to your monotonous days.
